Hello Lochside Community! 

We are excited to offer a new opportunity to our Grade 3, 4 & 5 students called THE BIKE BUS! This initiative will run every Tuesday starting April 01, 2025. 
Students MUST:

• Be experienced riders with some knowledge of road safety
   
• Have a bike in good working condition
   
• Have a helmet
   
• Have a bike lock that they know how to use independently

The Bike Bus will have two pickup spots:
Carolwood Drive at 8:00am
Emily Carr Park at 8:10am

We will have a weekly sign up doc for parents to sign up their child(ren) to inform us if their child will be biking to and from school, or just one way. We will ride rain or shine, so please ensure that your child has appropriate gear (ie: proper footwear and outerwear).

Please note that you will receive a second email requesting parent volunteers to ride with the students. This opportunity can only happen with at least 3 parents per route, so your participation is appreciated. All parents and students will receive bike safety training through Saanich Police at Lochside. More information to come.
